Faces to Watch: Christian Camargo

ON edge in Chekhov's "Seagull" at the Juilliard School, on the attack as Shakespeare's Henry V at the Globe in London, sardonic as the Ice Truck Killer on Showtime's hit series "Dexter," jittery on Broadway as his father's would-be avenger in the recent "All My Sons" — Christian Camargo seems to have been polishing the facets of a potentially hypnotic Hamlet for quite some time.

Next month he gets his shot with Theater for a New Audience at the Duke. Tall, lithe and darkly Mediterranean, he looks nothing like a Dane, but never mind. " 'Hamlet,' in the end, is about the actor playing Hamlet," he said. "Any sooner, I would have been paralyzed by the need to Give a Performance. Now, I think I'm ready to surrender to the process."

Previews begin March 15.
